The Semantic Web vs. tagging by the people.

After reading Shirky's piece on semantic web and having thought about what a good idea the semantic web is, but how would you get all the college teachers in the world to adopt a data description system and tags, I am leaning toward the view that fuzzy logic and tags will work fine. From this post, I am now wondering if we automate tagging for the semantic web and then it might work. Anyway, if you ever think about the semantic web you can add your comment.
