Journalists--doesn't this make you feel sick?
So, Rumsfeld is now paying a private consulting firm, Lincoln Group to translate propaganda stories so that they can be placed in Iraqi newspapers. The US is also paying Iraqi journalists to write favorable stories, according to the NYTimes.
On top of this questionable practice, they are using material without attribution in some of the stories.
What does this do to the credibility of any real journalist from the US who tries to work overseas? The only good thing about it is that it provides a great ethics case study jumping off point for class. This link includes a short video clip from CNN.
