Local perspective on "hyperlocal"
No digital hook in this story but if you want to understand community, there is much to be learned or at least contemplated in this overview of small (400-1600 circulation) local papers in Northern Minnesota.
People are people. You can write for 400 people who are dispersed over the globe, but making them into a community or supplying them with the kind of news that binds and builds community is not much different in a digital world than it is in the real world.
