The New Zealand Herald

I am not totally in the world of wi-fi and so I still rely on my land line phone, more than my mobile. This story brought back to me the fear I felt on 9/11 when my kid was in NYC as a student and I couldn't get through to her for days. The other part of the story, about how phonecams have come of age for recording moments of history is true, but the reliance our society has on technology which can be overloaded or broken in an instant is something that I don't think the Homeland Security or anyone else is capable of dealing with. Redundancy. Meshnetworks. That is what I am thinking. The New Zealand Herald
